As a fan of the State Farmer’s Market in Raleigh, you’ll find an array of great produce, fruits, plants, and more. But one of my favorite parts of the State Farmer’s Market is just outside the main building under a little tent, what I affectionately call the “goodies area”. This section hosts a variety of food vendors serving up cookies, pastries, honey, and excitingly: Venezuelan rolled breads! That’s right, in this area at the end of the farmer’s market is Zulia Roll-ups Bakery.

Zulia serves up traditional Venezuelan rolled breads with a variety of fillings. Sweet, savory, fruits, cheeses, meats, and more, I’m sure you’ll find something that meets your food fancy at Zulia. I tried out the pepperoni and mozzarella roll-up and it’s a hefty offering, about the size of a large sub. Heat it up in the toaster oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and you’ll have a delicious meal for two. The rolled bread is lovingly stuffed with cheese and spicy pepperoni in three layers. It’s very cool to see how the bread is constructed and it’s evenly filled with this tastiness. The bread itself is light and slightly sweet, it reminds me of a Cuban or Portuguese type bread, very tasty.

So if you’re at the NC State Farmer’s Market, check out Zulia Roll-up Bakery at the very end of the main building. These breads are delicious and I’m looking forward to trying more off their menu!
